“Here, your weapons,” I said and gave her the three arrows and the ax; thankfully, the energy weapons clean themselves automatically, or I needed to clean them, and I really did not want to do it.

“Thank you,” she said as she placed her hand in the quiver and took the ax in hand.

“I really hope you know where the Grimms have left their backpacks, or this yuckiness would be the end of me,” I said, motioning toward the filth that is on me; I am really having a hard time holding back the vomit.

“Yes, I know; I have also left my backpack somewhere close,” she said and stepped toward it when she suddenly stopped.

“Is there something” she asked as I did not follow.

“Yes.

This place is reward type,” I said with a sigh, and alarm flashed on her face, but she was quickly able to control her emotions.

Still, I could see heaviness enveloping her eyes as she understood passing this test would be much harder than she had thought.

We were waiting in comfortable silence when, about thirty seconds later, a case appeared.

This case is bigger than the last one.

“Will you please” I asked, motioning my hands which should not touch anything if I did not want to spread the yuck, which had already begun drying.

Click!

Rachel walked toward the case and opened it; inside were the three energy arrows.

Like, I had said, this ruin provides us what we need.

“I am sorry,” said Rachel, “For what It is a pretty good reward; with three more arrows, you will do pretty good damage to any enemy we come across,” I said; she nodded and put the three arrows in her hip quiver before getting up.

“Lets go,” I said, and we walked toward our backpacks; we first went to retrieve my backpack since it was on the way.

It took us a few minutes to get it, and I wanted to drink that wonderful-wonderful, but I did not; I did not want to touch any of my things with yuckiness.

So, after we retrieved my backpack and Rachel drank a few gulps of my delicious water, we began to walk toward her and Grimms backpack.

“They are pretty big,” I said happily as I ran toward them.

The backpacks are huge, about half the size of Grimms, and I could see the big water bottle which was hanging by it; it is the reason I have been for it.

The water there would be more than enough for a bath out of this yuck and drink my fill before filling out my canteens.

Water is the most precious commodity, and as the desert rule says, you should drink as much water as you can when you come across the source.

“A little privacy, please,” I said to her as I reached the backpack, “Sure,” she replied and placed a new set of clothes and soap bottle near me before walking toward another big backpack that was not far away from her own.

Put!

I pierced the big water bottle with my halberd, and a stream of water began to fall down on me.

I felt the refreshingly cool water falling down on my body under the blazing sun.

For a few seconds, I did not move at all before I removed all my wet clothes and started to scrub myself with a piece of netted cloth that I tore away from the cloth earlier.

It was a little hard to scrub everything, but I did without care for my skin to become red from the excessive scrubbing.

It took me more than twenty minutes to wash down everything, and thanks to soap, all the yucky smell had also vanished.

It felt great to be clean again, though this feeling would not last for long; I could feel myself sweating under the sun.

Tear Tear Tear

With bathing done, I tore the backpack of Grimm with a few slashes of my halberd, and everything inside spilled out.

From clothes and tents to rations, everything is no-magical and in a big size.

Everything was useless to me; with limited capacity, I could not take anything, not even food.

It would have been a different thing if it had been a magical nature, but nothing of that sort is present.

So, I took a few more gulps of water till I was full and walked toward Rachel, who also seemed to be sorting through the storage of the Grimm.

“Nothing, right” I asked as I reached her.

“No, everything is too damn big to take,” she said as she looked at the big things.

“Everything is non-magical, even this” she said and motioned toward the spy-glass; seeing it, I couldnt help but become surprised.

“I did not have that on the tables,” I said, looking at the big spy glasses, “Me too,” she said with a shake of her head.

I dont know why it happened, but it would have been amazing.

If we had something like it, it would have made our journey much easier.

Still, we moved the big piece and looked around through it but found nothing.

So, we stopped, filled our canteens, and drank as much water as we could before starting our jokey, with the heavy backpacks on our backs and maps in our hands.

“If we continue moving at such a pace, we will be able to reach the mid-point by eight,” She said, looking at the watch in her hand.

“It will be quicker if we did not come across any trouble,” I said, but both of us laughed at that.

After what we have experienced, there is going to be trouble, especially more with the reward system, which will make Grimms actively hunt humans.

It is a piece of bad news for us humans because of the disadvantages we have against them in this place.

A few minutes passed, and we could see the Apeman we had killed not long ago; great changes had occurred in a matter of minutes; more than half of its birds flesh had vanished, eaten away by the carrion birds that came at it, the moment we walked away from the body.

“These birds are really something.” “If the common birds of our world had eaten the flesh of Grimms, they would have been rolling in pain right now.” She said.

The flesh of the Grimm is poisonous to every being in the world, be it animals, monsters, or even humans.

Not to mention, our world decomposes the Grimms really fast; even High-Grand Lords would disappear in a matter of days.

I would have really liked it if I could employ my seeds; I would really like to know what was so special about these birds that they could consume the flesh of the Grimm without any problem.

Time passed as we continued our walk; for three hours, nothing had happened before we finally saw the Grimm.

It seemed to have seen us before we did, as when we noticed it, we saw it running toward us.

“We will fight as we have discussed,” I said; Rachel nodded and began to climb the closest sand dune while I waited for the Ratman to come closer.

Since it desires death so much, we will give it to it.
